I was asked by a band of juniors in high school to provide a “friendship” themed song sung by a female vocalist in a boy’s language for a school festival. Then I created this pop song by expanding on an old motif from my junior high school days.
The song is in the style of 80’s pop music with long lyrics tailored to the theme and a storyline. My production notes called it “J-Pop that is neither poison nor medicine”.
The original form was composed around 1989. I was working on this arrangement from September to December 1996. It was difficult for me to make this enough easy to play for the performing members.
