This version, rearranged from the original, was created between May 2001 and March 2002. In addition to the original, which was created as a commissioned work, I rearranged it into a large orchestral arrangement as another version that I felt was ideal.
The original one, which was created in response to a request for “a quiet chant or a cappella-like piece with a slightly sad and wistful overall feeling,” had to consist of only one motif because the length of the piece was strictly set at 30 seconds, and the composition of the instruments was also specified.
Without the above restrictions, I was able to include as much of the phrasing, instrumentation and development that I wanted to express in the world of this song. I felt that the soaring high-pitched melody in the main motif of this song would shine even brighter only with the restrained parts leading up to it.
