I wrote this grunge-like song in June 1999, and it was intended for a female vocalist.
I made the lyrics imagining a person whose life is full of terribly painful things, but who is still in a situation where he or she has to live. The lyrics don’t say anything definite, but the main character doesn’t seem to be planning to say anything more specific.
Note that the melody of “Dancers #3” was so perfect for the accent of the lyrics that it was adopted almost verbatim for the chorus melody of this song.
