Composed in October 1998, it has a pounding, destructive urgency that alternates between fast drum’n’bass and moments of respite.
This is one of the songs I was commisssioned to produce as background music for a slide show of dancers on the website of photographer Mr. Chukyo Ozawa.
Of course, there is no sound or movement in the photographs, but I tried to express stillness and movement from the cut-out moments of contemporary dance. This piece was created from a photograph of a particularly intense and inhuman moment.
It is atonal, full of dissonance and always a bit tense.
