Graving Underground

I wrote this song in October 1997, when I started accepting composition requests other than for my own band, and it has a rhythm that is a bit like a broken down four beat techno.

This is one of two songs I wrote for my friend Mr. Hyaku’s website in the early stages of the project, and I was asked to imagine the catchphrase “Hyakutaro Ushiro, the modern version of Hyakutaro”. I didn’t know what it meant, so I made it to evoke the image of something mysterious, something that is buzzing in the underground.
