This is a classic-sounding small piece, created for a New Year’s greeting card e-mail attachment for the year 2000, that soars high and soars briskly to announce the dawn of the new millennium. The motif is soft wind and the newest light.
Although the public release on the site was in reverse order, this was the first time I tried to experiment with the instrumentation that would later be found in the Blue Moon suite and the Snow series that I composed after this one.
