Snow #2 “A Thaw”

Composed in March 2000, this is the third song in the Snow series.

This is a quiet, classical-style piece composed mainly of strings and harp sounds, which evokes the image of melting snow. I imagined a scene of melting snow, gradually gathering drop by drop to form a large stream, and the long-awaited arrival of spring at last.

It is also not clear whether this piece has a major or minor tonality. It is an ambiguous and floating one, as there are few chords that correspond to the tonic.
