Snow #5 “Sharp Icicle”

This piano improvisation was arranged in May 1999, from a melody originally written as an introduction to another song.

It depicts the gradual melting and breaking of sharp icicles, and is a detailed interplay between early spring and the remnants of winter. The theme is similar to Snow #2 “A Thaw”, so there are some similarities in the chord progression.
