Thank you, as always, for your long-standing support. 29 years was a very long journey.
Yesterday, February 22, I was finally able to release On the Day the World Ends, a piece I ended up rebuilding from scratch. Last year, the data was lost due to an SSD failure the day before its originally scheduled release.
It is a slow, gentle piece with a touch of melancholy. There is a moment of despair, followed by something like quiet redemption. It was also a personal challenge — to see how slow a melody could be, and whether even hesitation itself could become part of the expression.
Incredibly, this marks my first new release in nearly 24 years. I don’t expect anyone has literally been waiting that long, but thank you for your patience all the same.
A preview video is available for listening.
The images we receive from sound are different for everyone, so your impressions may well differ from the visuals I created. If the piece resonates with you in any way, I would be grateful to hear your thoughts.
Notes
- Due to changes in both the times and my own preferences, this piece was not created with General MIDI playback in mind.
- The distributed formats are MP3, Ogg Vorbis, and M4A.
- As with my previous works, it may be used freely within the scope of the site’s terms of use.
One more thing… Another piano piece is planned for release next month.
Thank you for your continued support of nerve-noise.space, aka nerve(雑音空間).
