Notice of postponment of distributing “On the Day the World Ends” to subscription services

In our previous post, we mentioned that in addition to distributing music on this site, we are exploring ways to make our tracks available on subscription services such as Apple Music, Amazon Music, and YouTube Music. Here’s an update on our progress.

We considered distributing our music through the following five platforms:

  • RouteNote
  • TuneCore
  • Soundrop
  • DistroKid
  • Identifyy

After conducting a detailed review of each service’s distribution policies, we found that none of these platforms offer a way to allow users to freely use our music in their videos without requiring monetization or ad placements. Specifically, platforms that provide YouTube Content ID enforcement require monetization by default, or in cases where monetization can be disabled, content creators must manually request whitelisting for each instance of usage, making the process highly inefficient.

Due to the significant administrative workload involved, implementing this workflow in a practical way is not feasible at this time. As a result, we have decided not to distribute the exact same versions of our subscription-service tracks on our website for now. However, we will continue to explore possible solutions for the future.
