“On the day the world ends, with you.”
This is a quiet, slow, and contemplative piece.
It begins in a major key, yet carries both light and shadow. Though it has a classical resonance, I consider it to be closer to New Age music.
I began composing this piece in the winter of 2023, during a time when I was struggling both physically and emotionally. A sad event that occurred then became the starting point.
By shaping these feelings into music, I felt that even if certain things in this life cannot be undone, perhaps imagining meeting again at the end of the world might allow regret and sorrow to be gently held.
It may be a requiem for someone dear.
It may be regret for a life that might have been, but was not.
It may be a message to someone with whom words will never again be exchanged.
To anyone listening: no matter how many times hardship or pain may pull you under, may you bloom again someday beneath a blue sky.
