Groove #1 “Chaos”

Composed in June 1997, it was dedicated to Mr. “Haya” when he got the 1,000th person at the access counter “commemorative visitor” event we were holding at the time.

He wanted a song that was both heavy and light-sounding, so the composition started out heavy but doubled in tempo in the second half. In the production notes, I wrote that “I intended to depict the way people gradually go insane and the chaos inside their hearts overflows”. I don’t remenber why I composed this on such a theme.

Although the beginning and end have an F# major-like feel, the chord keeps moving up and down chromaticly throughout the song, so the key of this song is actually not clear.

Note: MIDI files created during this period are not designed for playback with General MIDI synthesizers, so I strongly recommend using YAMAHA XG synthesizers when converting them to audio for playback.
