Composed April 7, 1998. This is a quiet, classical piece that I created in response to a request from a website called “The notebook of your heart”.
It is the piece that gives a glimpse of my being greatly influenced by Mr. Joe Hisaishi. I remember how difficult it was for me at the time, when I was into loud gimmicks and exciting noises.
The mixture of non-diatonic notes in the minor scale of Western music with a slight hint of Japanese negative melody characterizes the atmosphere of this piece.
Since its release, it has been one of the most popular pieces because of its ease of use in background music applications.
